European vehicle testing loopholes exist

All along, Europe car fuel consumption tests were conducted in the laboratory, which gives an opportunity to car manufacturers exaggerate the energy-saving effect, recently, the European regulatory authorities submitted a draft legislation, in the form of trying to use the laws to be in highway fuel consumption test conduct on-site to prevent loopholes.

September 1 this year, the EU member states will implement more stringent emission standards in order to promote energy conservation process of the world, but may be subject to a joint opposition carmaker. According to EU data released last year showed that the unreasonable fuel consumption tests such as closed windows and the smooth pavement testing impractical to make theoretical fuel consumption than the actual fuel consumption fell by nearly a third. An EU official said, after the approval of the Member States approved the new regulations will be implemented by the end of the test. At present, the European Commission has not commented publicly, although its has a clear emphasis on rigorous testing procedures.

The experimental data show that the EU could lead to the threat of nitrogen oxides lung disease is underestimated, while actual emissions of nitrogen oxides car nearly five times more than the experimental data, which is a huge threat to the environment and human health. The provisions of the new regulations implemented in September, emitters of nitrogen oxides - NOx emissions from diesel vehicles should not exceed 80 milligrams per kilometer.

Personnel environmental organizations, independent researchers and the Commission said that because there are still loopholes exist, the new regulations may not be able to achieve significant results. In addition, the original emission standards will stop the implementation of this month.
